Inverloch
We headed to Inverloch again ... same place, same attendees. The weather this time though was much better and the girls loved playing in the shallow waters of the inlet.

Abbey's first day at childcare
Abbey had her first real day at childcare today and she did not even look back to say goodbye :-( . Apparently, according to Emma her teacher, she did not actually even realise that mummy was not there until it was nap time.
As I suspected, Abbey was not too keen on the lunch at childcare and preferred her own chicken. Luckily some was packed for her !
Unfortunately, there is no photo yet of Abbey at childcare ... she was too busy playing for photos !

Heide
The grand plan was to take the kids out and tire them so that Abbey and possibly Eloise would have a long siesta in the afternoon. We headed to Cafe Vue at Heide for coffee and a picnic lunch in the sculpture garden. The 5 Senses coffee at Cafe Vue was well hyped but I didn't think it lived up to its expectations .... too bitter. The kids though seemed to have enjoyed their baby cinos or perhaps it was just the chocolate that came with it.
Some interesting sculptures made for some even more interesting discussion, such as how can we roll this egg down the slope ....
through to ... where is this woman's head gone ?
These next shots here captured the moment just before Abbey showed her true colours . Abbey who was standing on the sculpture first were joined by some much larger kids who were edging her further and further off the yellow platform. Rather than cry, Abbey stood her ground and when she was shoved once too many times, she stood up for herself and stood on the bigger girls' fingers ! We are by no means condoning such behaviour but it gave us an insight into Abbey's personality and that she might do quite well in fending for herself in the big wide world.
Once out of the sculpture garden there were some very interesting paths that took us towards the river and lots of signs that said "snakes present" !!
There were lots to explore and large areas to run around in.
The girls worked up quite an appettite and Abbey even tried something else other than her chicken ... .although she was not a fan of the wrap whilst Eloise ate her first wrap complete with salad, ham and cheese ! Very excited because until now, Eloise has only ever agreed to eat either vegemite, honey or fairy bread sandwiches !!
Ohhh, and as for the grand plan to tire the kids out ... it backfired spectacularly .... Abbey slept in the car on the 15 minute drive home and woke up as soon as we stopped full of energy and raring to go again !!

They were also great for climbing.

The "Plane Boy" was another great climbing sculpture and luckily this time around, the girls had it to themselves!

First Day Back at Kinder
The summer holidays are finally over and it is back to kinder and hooray.... back to some form of a routine!! Eloise started back at 4 year old kinder and was quite excited to see her friends again but not so excited about having a new teacher (we are still learning how to adapt to change!).
Abbey as usual thought she was going too ... and as it turns out Abbey will soon be starting her first day at child care very soon. Currently going through the orientation process and so far so good - Poh Poh has taken her twice for two morning sessions and then pretended to leave. Abbey has taken no notice and gone off to play immediately. Apparently no tears at all and very keen to play with the other kids.
