Very early on Boxing Day as in 5am we were hooked up to our camper trailer and ready for our 8 hour drive to Eden. The long drive turned out not to be too bad but nevertheless the kids were glad to get to Eden where we stayed at Sapphire Sun. The first thing they wanted to do was to hit the jumping pillow!
They were also very keen to get to the beach which was literally on our door step ...this was the best part of the park - its own private beach!
Our own private beach |
There was also plenty to explore around Eden, we drove up to the lookout one day and visited Ben Boyd National Park another day.
Not far from there was an old whaling station which was a little eerie.
And not far from where we were staying there was a great pub in a well preserved historic building with great grounds for the kids to run around in.
Eden is about 25km from Merimbula and we made a few trips there for some shopping, the bakery and the beach.
Merimbula Boardwalk |
Pambula - Even closer to Eden was Pambula and its beautiful sheltered beach. One of the calmest and prettiest beaches we've seen north of Queensland!
We also went out on the Cat Balou for a cruise around the various bays and coves around Eden. Great fun and the girls were so excited when we some dolphins swim up next to the boat.
The dolphin spotting was only matched by a fish and chips lunch on the harbour.
Another first for the girls was kayaking and Eloise managed to kayak on her own.
One of our favourite parts of camping is eating outdoors. For some reason, food always seems to taste better outdoors.
Hmmmm....Tathra oysters |

New Years Eve was spent on the beach with some sparklers and some live music.
Tathra and its cool café on the pier was also another great spot not far from Eden.
