We fell in love with Hoi An ten years ago and we were keen to show the kids Hoi An before it changed too much. Ten years later and it is now more crowded as the world seems to have made Vietnam a travel destination. Gone are the internet cafes and instead every restaurant now seems to run a cooking school. Hoi An has become somewhat of a foodie destination with lots of great restaurants to choose from.
We stayed at Anantarra Resort which was literally a stone throw away from the hotel we had stayed in ten years ago. We started our stay in Hoi An with a ride on the complimentary bikes from the hotel.
Another day was spent at Hoi An beach. With kids in tow this time, we could not bike ride to the beach but instead got a taxi there. Lunch was at one of the beachside seafood cafes. Must be low season as there were not that many on the beach.
There were still plenty of the traditional scenes that we love about Hoi An. Despite all the tourists, the locals still seemingly go about their day to day lives as if nothing has changed.
Hoi An night life. We could not resist these lanterns and the girls bought some for their bedrooms.
The kids though seemed to enjoy the pool better than anything else !
Next stop is Phu Quoc Island
