Getting Along Famously

They have their moments where they are fighting constantly over the most trivial of things such as who is going to open the front door!  And then there are other times where they can play for hours on end.  And now that Eloise can read a little, she will occasionally try to read to Abbey.

St Andrews Market

It has bee a while since we went to the St Andrews Market that is known for its hippies.  The girls got right into the spirit of things and spent ages building a cubby out of sticks and twigs next to the Chai tent !

Queens Birthday Weekend

We braved the elements this year on the Queen's Birthday Weekend and camped at Healesville with 3 other families.  Whilst the mornings and nights were extremely chilly, the days were brilliant.   The great thing about Healesville, was that we were allowed to have fires and these kept us warm and entertained.

The giant jumping pillow also proved very popular with the kids.

There were all together 8 kids and all of them got along fabulously.  Eloise had one of her besties,  Mackenzie there whilst Abbey had her buddy Eve. And it was great watching Abbey getting on famously with some of the older kids.

We have always known that Eloise loves the outdoors and it would appear that Abbey has followed suit.  Abbey loves the great outdoors and she seems to be truly in her element whenever we go camping.

Jam and Cream

We found a cute little cafĂ© in Heidelberg with a pink caravan and scones.  We caught up with some friends there and the girls loved the dress up box and all their vintage wears.

Brrrr...its cold

Winter has well and truly hit Melbourne.  However, freezing mornings give way to nice crisp sunny days.  So despite the cold, our weekends are still very much in the great outdoors.

Student of the Week!

Guess who was chosen as Student of the Week this week from Prep 4?   It is none other than our very own Eloise!

Her award was for "Her hard work in writing.  Eloise always takes risks in her writing by producing interesting and creative sentences with different sentence starters. She sounds out her words and uses her knowledge of codes to help her spell"

Each Monday morning, at the all school assembly, the Student of the Weeks are presented with their award and Eloise was super excited and for the first time in weeks we were actually early for school on Monday morning!
Waiting patiently for her name to be called out. Can you spot Eloise?
Receiving her certificate from the Principal
Apparently the grim look was masking the nerves she was feeling!
Even Daddy made it to assembly to watch Eloise receive her award.

Lining up with the other student of the weeks.
As student of the week, Eloise also received the class trophy which is displayed on her desk for the whole week at school and she also gets to be the 'line leader' and called 'VIP' for the whole week.  And that according to Eloise is the best part !

Playdates

Abbey is turning into quite the social butterfly and loves her play dates.  Whether it is to go "shopping" or playing in the backyard or making the trip to school to pick up Eloise, she just loves the company of her friends.
