Happy 4th Birthday Abbey !

Finally, Abbey is 4 and she seems to have gained some respect from her kinder friends who can no longer tease her for being only 3! After much changing of minds on Abbey's part, we finally decided and stayed with a Minnie Mouse themed cooking party in our backyard.

It was a glorious April Sunday afternoon with the sun shinning bright. The kids started by decorating cardboard cut out of Easter eggs to be used later in an Easter egg hunt.

Then it was on to pizza making with real pizza dough.

Whilst the pizzas were cooking the kids hunted for Easter Eggs in the backyard.

After working up an appetite from the hunt, it was time for some food.

After the party food, there was more cooking or cookie decorating to be done.   Some very colourful creations were uncovered!

And then it was time for cake ... a Minnie Mouse one off course!

Rosebud

Labour Day this year was camping on the Rosebud foreshore with Grandma and first time campers - Steven, De and Amber.

That weekend turned out to be the Rosebud kite festival and we saw plenty in the sky - but unfortately despite their efforts, Eloise and Brett's kite flying skills were not in the same league.

Steve and De also gave the kite flying a go but to no avail ....
Its up, its up !!
The kite stayed up for a whole good two seconds before it crashed and burtned!

The beach at Rosebud was absolutely gorgeous  - wide with soft clean sand.  The kids loved it as it was quite calm and shallow and was perfect for some skim boarding.   Brett was kept busy and fit pulling the kids on the skim boards.

Back to School and Kinder

The summer holidays has just flown by and it is now back to school and kinder and routine for the kids.   Both were a little apprehensive ... Eloise was worried that Grade 1 would be much harder and Abbey just wanted to go back to 3yr old kinder!

Mummy and Eloise Day

These days are now rare and are so treasured ... it was a Mummy and Eloise day before school started up again for the year.  There was some shoe shopping done before lunch at the newest café in Eltham - Café Zen Den.  A large healthy smoothie followed by a healthy corn fritter and not so healthy chips!

Rye

Another school holiday and another mini break with our friends from kinder and school. This time we rented a big house in Rye, although according to the kids it was not as big and good as the one we had in Phillip Island. Talk about creating high expectations!

So once again there were 4 mums with two kids each bringing the total number of kids to 8! Four kids at 6 years old and the other four either 4 or 3 in Abbey's case.

We spent most of our time hanging out in Sorrento either at the café, shops, park or beach.
