Christmas with the Bees

We had our Christmas celebrations with the extended family at Andrew and Mayna's. There was plenty of food and kids!

Gingerbread House

Ever wondered what gingerbread houses have to do with Christmas ?  Well we are none the wiser but the girls did enjoy making it !
First the base ...
then the walls...
and now for the decorations

Girls deep in concentration
The finishing touches
Voila ... the finished product !

Off to a Christmas party with their creation

Christmas Lights

We took the kids to see some of the Christmas lights around Eltham and we were all in awe at some of the elaborate displays we saw. There were some with music and a few even had machines that blew out soap suds for snow. The kids were in awe!

Echuca with the Sanders

It has been a few months since Grandpa Sanders' funeral and there was a family reunion held in Echuca.  We rented a huge house right on the river with a fantastic al fresco area with a pool and had a great weekend.

The girls loved hanging out with their older cousins Hannah and Brooke.
Grandma with a few of her grandkids
There was also plenty to see and do in historic Echuca

There was a horse drawn carriage ride around town

and a cool drink whilst watching the world go by ....

before getting on the paddle steamers

Followed by a relaxing afternoon by the pool and some fishing on the banks of the Murray.

The house we had was huge and accomodated 5 families very comfortably.

The Sanders brothers and sisters ... a rare reunion.

Apollo Bay

Melbourne Cup weekend this year saw us in Apollo Bay where the weather was our friend.  The girl enjoyed the beach which was a short stroll from the caravan park.

Beachtime was usually followed by a stroll down to the shops for a milkshake / coffee and a play in the park.

The girls have decided that they are now game enough to hit the skate park on their scooter.

One of the best things about Apollo Bay is the close distance to the shops where we enjoyed the cafes and bakery.  Lunchtime .... sausage rolls washed down with a Big M!

Halloween

For the first time, we got into the spirit of Halloween.  The girls (especially Eloise) have been looking forward to this for ages and they certainly dressed to look the part ... the witch and Minnie Mouse looked absolutely gorgeous!

There was also a witch and the fairy as Abbey could not settle on her outfit!

We met up with some of Eloise's friends from school and met at the Eltham Pub for a Halloween meal before going trick a treating.

We did not have to go far as there are a couple of houses near us that really go all out with their Halloween decorations.  The girls had a ball!
