Spoleto

We picked up our hire car today, a zippy little Fiat and armed with a 99 Euro GPS for all of Europe, we were set to leave Rome and head to Spello in Umbria.    With the GPS it was quite easy getting out of Rome and not the nightmare that Brett had dreaded.

We were soon out of Rome and Spoleto, a medieval village in Umbria not far from Spello.

We got there around 3pm which is 'siesta' time and all the shops were closed, giving the town an eerie ghost town feel about it.
Empty main street of Spoleto

Cart wheels up the main street

We love many of the doors that we came across

The town like most of the other Umbrian towns are built on a hill so it up and up all the way to the other side of town.
