Fethiye, Turkey

Fethiye was another coastal yachtie type of town where we based ourselves for day trips to Oludeniz and its blue lagoon and the abandoned town of Kayokoy

Breakfast at our hotel overlooking the yachts

The girls were not too interested in going far from the pool ... who could blame them the temperature was in the 40s!

We did eventually leave the hotel and checked out the yachts ... apparently bare boat charters are much cheaper from here then anywhere else in Europe

...strolling into town

Kayakoy was a well worth day trip.  Its an abandoned Greek village, abandoned when the Greeks and Turks did a population sway (where all the Greeks had to leave Turkey and vice versa after WW1).   The girls enjoyed looking for abandoned 'treasures' (pieces of crockery etc) which they found a few and were very apt in spotting figs that were ripe for the plucking!
Fig plucking ...good job girls!

Our stash of figs from Kayakoy

We also took a trip out to the world famous blue lagoon, Oludeniz
