Kas, Turkey

Kas (pronounced Cash) was a laid back beachy and fishing village.  We wandered around the old town and found lots of ancient treasurer.

The very ancient Lions Tomb, 4th century BC !

Or there was the 'beach' to relax on

....although the better beach and one of the best in the world, Kaputas beach, was a little further out of town.   Well worth the trip for these turquouise waters

Kas was a great place for us to do some day trips.  One of our trips was out to the Myra Amphitheatre and en-route we came across this herd!

Near the Myra Tombs was the St Nicholas church who is apparently the real Santa Claus!

Our hotel was nice and central to all the eateries

Kas Friday markets

There were lots of ancient ruins and amphitheatres to explore

On one of our car trips out we came across a couch on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere

Another trip we did was a boat trip and the girls loved it!
