Istanbul, Turkey

What an amazing city, Istanbul is!  There was so much to see.  First there was Aya Sofya, an amazing church then turned into a mosque.

Then there was Topkapi Palace

And off course the Blue Mosque

And the Grand Bazaar

There were also plenty of mosques and tombs everywhere we walked

Galata Bridge

Galata Tower

Basilica Cistern
Some ladies we met outside the Basilica Cistern trying to take a selfie!
The Hippodrome Area where we met the lady who wanted to show the girls how to make a Turkish rug!

Istiklal Street shopping area

Bhosphorous Cruise

And off course, the food was amazing!

...except for the Turkish ice-cream which the kids said was disgusting and it did have a bubblegum consistency!  And beware the ice-cream guy who will demand an exorbitant amount of money for their 'show'

It was also in Instanbul that the girls made friends with their Scottish born and bred Turkish friends with whom Eloise has continued to keep in contact with via Musicaly.  The girls learnt a lot about Muslims and head scarfs from these girls.
