Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, what a gorgeous place.  Loved the warm Spring weather. The scenery is just amazing, aquamarine everywhere you look. Just five minutes from the airport and you are on the coastal road that hugs the cliffs.

We stayed just outside the old city and had a very impressive view of the old city and the city walls.  Just a five minute walk away was the old town!

Our apartment in Dubrovnik was just above the old city but that meant walking down over 200 steps to get there and then 200 steps to get back!
Resting at the top of the 200 odd steps!
We loved wandering around the Stradun which is the main street of the old town and the squares around it.

We got a lot of  exercise exploring the streets that fork out from it like a fishbone.  The streets were narrow and steep!

Not so happy campers after walking up 200 steps!
Sometimes they needed a bit of a helping hand up !
With all that walking we did have lots of stops like at this bar on the cliff face overlooking out to sea and off course there were the obligatory gelato stops for the kids.

We also viewed Dubrovnik from on top of Mt Srd and the kids loved the cable ride up and back

The port at the old town was another great place to just sit around and watch the world go by as the locals do.

The girls enjoyed their lunch and play on the rocks just outside the port of old Dubrovnik

Climbing the city walls we got a great view of Dubrovnik old town and the sea surrounding it.  It was 2kms right around the walls with lots of steps.  The kids were a little tired (and cranky!) by the end of it!
