The Pompidou Centre is famous in Paris for being the inside out building where all its pipes and plumbing are visible from the outside. It hohuses a number of art galleries including a modern art one featuring works by Picasson and Matisse but this one was closed so we just walked the inside, had a game or two of table tennis and checked out the fountains outside the building.

Table tennis in the Pompidou centre |
The Pompidou Centre is not far from the Hotel de Ville (Town Hall) but when we got there the kids were more interested in chasing large bubbles around.

Relaxing in the square in front of the Hotel de Ville |
We were on the hunt for a car seat for Abbey to put in our next hire car and have looked all over Paris and was directed to the only large departmental store in Paris - BHV in the Marais district. So we headed there and found what we would consider a pretty small sized departmental store. We had lunch there and found this view of the chimney pots from our table by the window.
We walked around the streets of Marais and decided that the next time we were in Paris, this would be the neighbourhood we would stay in as it was close to all the attractions but yet had a very local and relaxed vibe about it.
