Honfleur

What a cute little town.  Like Dinan, Honfleur has many half timber houses.  It also has a very picturesque port that has very skinny buildings due to tax being calculated on the width of the building!

We stayed just behind St Catherine's church.  St Catherine is quite unusual for a church as it is a wooden church and its roof looks like a boat as it was built by boat builders as the town being a fishing town had plenty of boat builders!

Walking home with her baquette
It is very unusual we do this but we actually went back to a restaurant twice in Honfleur because it was so good.  Normally we like to try as many different restaurants as possible.  Not only was the food great but it was also fantastic value.  An entre, main and dessert for 15 Euros !

At our favourite restaurant in Honfleur, Le Bouchen in front of St Catherine's church
Entrée of Fish Salad
Entrée of salmon creviche
Main of flounder with creamy garlic sauce

Back again at our favourite restaurant!

After all that food, we had to walk it off

Our apartment in Honfleur was right in the centre of the historic part just behind St Catherine's church and the market square

Dinner in turned into a bit of a sword fight!
Loved the sunny and bright apartment in Honfleur

Walking around the back streets of Honfleur we saw quite a few, some of which were abandoned.

How does this lady get in and out? The entrance is completely overgrown and there are no roads behind the house.

It was a little too much walking for some !
