Kyoto has more UNESCO world heritage sites than any other city I know and
Nijo Castle (which includes Ninomaru Palace and several beautiful Japanese gardens) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and forms part of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities)” listing. Nijo Castle was completed in 1626 for the third Shogun.
Coming out of the castle we spotted a little lunch spot that was filled with office workers. And no wonder, a large bowl of udon was less than AUD 5!
Our next stop after lunch was Kinkakuji Temple which was a brilliant golden temple.
No wonder the gardens ae so immaculate |
Italy has in gelatos and Japan has its soft serves! Got a little addicted to the matcha ones !
