First stop was breakfast at a ramen bar along with all the 'salary men'. So cheap!
After picking up our pocket wifi at Shinjuku Post Office (and it was a miracle that we were able to find somebody to find us our parcel as there was no English and where we went looked like some warehouse delivery window), we wandered over the to Municipal Government Building which had awesome views over Tokyo
With hours still to kill before we could check our weary jet lagged bodies and minds into our apartment we hopped on the famous Tokyo subway line.
We headed out to Yanaka where we found old world Japan in ultra modern Tokyo. There were still old world butcher shops, a rice wine distillery, bath houses and shops selling Japanese paper printed. There was also the large Yanaka cemetery to explore .
We also stumbled upon a neighbourhood temple which was like a haven for our weary bodies. Open to the public, it was very quiet and clean and there was paper and ink which I think is used to write prayers but the girls found their own use for it!
