Mont Marte and Sacre Coeur

We took a train out to Montmarte one Saturday morning and walked up the steps to Sacre Coeur.  Just outside the train station we came across a number of shops with these bargain bins where there were hordes of people rummaging through the bins.  Apparently these bins are filled with discarded designer clothes at a significantly reduced price and each Saturday morning at 8am the trucks dump these clothes into the big bins and there are hordes of customers waiting to pounce on a bargain!

Sacre Coeur is the highest point in Paris and the views from Sacre Coueur across Paris is pretty awesome.

The girls found a statue that they could not stop playing with.

After getting down from Sacre Coeur we walked around Montmarte but it was not long before one of the girl insisted that it was lunchtime!

We also came across Montmarte cemetery which was a fascinating place. Many of the graves had very elaborate mausoleums or statutes or sculptures on them.  We also saw many people treating the cemetery like a park where they would take a book and read it on one of the benches in the cemetery!

The girls decided that it was a great place for a game of hide and seek!
